Participants will experience simulations that mirror language related difficulties with reading and writing. The simulations increase awareness of the difficulties and frustrations individuals with dyslexia face on a daily basis, thereby leading to greater empathy and understanding. This will give insight into working effectively with students who have dyslexia or characteristics of dyslexia. This session meets the requirements of the Alabama Administrative Code and the Alabama Literacy Act which states that all K-12 certified educators participate in dyslexia awareness training.
